What’s in a name?
That which we call an ad agency, By any other name would sound as clever.

Actually, we knew no one would possibly own the domain name, manahuilla.com. And it’s a great conversation starter. But for those of you who love Texas and its colorful history, here’s some trivia.

Ma · na · hui · lla (mä nä wī’ yä) noun

  1. Creek in southwestern DeWitt County running to its mouth on the San Antonio River. The stream is said to have been named after a girl from the Karankawa tribe.

[Ultimately from the language of the Karankawa people, a tribe of the Texas Coastal Plains.]

Word History: The Manahuilla is mentioned in several accounts of the Battle of Colleto, the culmination of the Goliad Campaign of 1836, between Texas commander, James W. Fannin, and Gen. José de Urrea.1
